Yeah I realised that. And now I changed the build from stonestriker/mantra of earth to mantra of resolve/channeling.

This will make it a whole lot easier I think. Might have some problems with energy but nothing too bad.

Ok I just restarted UW runs again and im finding a nightmare in the same spot over and over. Please tell me im just unlucky, because its ruining it. Its right by the entrance to the tunnel with the door. You know where you cant go until you finish the quest. It rends me and as I run, the aatxes keep chasing.

Cast Storm Djnn's before you start running, then wait till it's about 3/4 recharge, start running and if you get rended it's ready to cast again.

Wait... your getting killed by the same nightmare over and over... and keep doing the same thing over and over? Heres an idea.... try something different!

I prefer Channeling/Ele Power to Resolve. Channeling stops me running out of energy vs smites if things go tits up. Resolve isn't that needed if you can at least time your SV after making sure all interrupts have been used.

Ok, thanks, I think i will also have to be patient with the patrols on the other side too. I think thats also why I died. They caught me while running from the aatxes in the first chamber.

Why would you do that? MoE cleans up 40% of the damage and gives you energy, you already take no damage as it is. Using graspings as a refference point, its equivalent to about 60 more armor.

just want to say thanx for the build, works great! especially compared to VwK war build. Only thing ive noticed is getting the HCT on the dragon stomp messes up the smites if theres a larger group because they end up taking less dmg.

A normal stomp gives them more time to attack and take the dmg from sandstorm, then stomp comes just as they are thinking of running, aftershock then they die on the run off. With the HCT, a lot usually survive and they take that extra time to kill, im thinking to swap the galigords (well variant i made) for a HSR and +1 instead

That's the reason why koning did NOT recommend a HCT weapon in his guide.

He's already stated that HCT on smites will screw up aggro for you in.. the first few pages or so of this thread.

I just use my Jaynes Staff. Now that HSR on Staffs is universal and the fact HCT is a very bad thing in this sense its not a bad option. Although i would probably be better off using a Weapon w/ +5e and 20% enchantments and an Earth offhand with +1 Earth 20% and -2 damage while enchanted (because i don't use Mantra of Earth so its not ele damage).

Best choice for the Grasping Darkness would probably be a 20HSR/40HCT Illusion staff w/ 20% enchantments or a HSR 10% w/ Enchantments weapon and 20% HSR Illusion offhand before switching to your normal set. Increases your chances massively of getting a half recharge of SV which can be a life saver if things go tits up vs the Grasping.

No idea Dariah. I haven't attempted on my Mesmer personally, but if anyone has do post. I too am looking for more skill points so I can insure the capturing of all skills and elites.

yep, more fool me for just reading the wiki page. Been using a galigords replica for the graspings, and rahjazans favor and a galigords scroll my guildie gave me for the smites.

how can you get 13 sec AV with 8 illusion? the skill discription says 5..9 sec i now have 7 sec AV only and I keep dying at the grasps...

Well, give Glyph of Concentration a try

Stoneflesh Aura -> Stonestriker ->Mantra of Earth -> Storm Djinn's Haste -> Glyph of concentration

aggro, then the glyph covers the casting of sandstorm and earthquake. Aftershock can't be countered (they're knocked down), when they die recast Stoneflesh, wait for Aftershock to recharge, kill the incoming darknesses.
